71 Fragments Of A Chronology Of Chance
During a rampage in a bank branch, a 19-year-old student shoots three people and himself on Christmas 1993. In a coolly mixed, seemingly uninvolving sequence, 71 scenes are shown, separated by black frames. On view are people whose fates coincidentally meet in this catastrophe. Among them a bank employee, a gun thief, a childless couple, a young refugee. The people are portrayed in unspectacular everyday moments, and the chronicle is expanded to include current television coverage from the time.
