A bon vivant and womanizer, artist, dandy and crook, a forger by passion, is arrested and once again goes to jail. From there he is transferred to the concentration camp, where he becomes an important element in the Nazi forger's workshop in Sachsenhausen. The film is based on the autobiography of Adolf Burger, who witnessed how the Nazis manufactured foreign currency on a large scale in order to throw the world economy out of balance. "The Counterfeiters" won the 2008 Foreign Film Oscar.
