Asphalt
The film describes the fates of five young people, based on Viennese police files from the post-war period: three reckless girls go down the wrong path, one lad becomes a thief, another a murderer. In Asphalt, Johanna Matz plays one of the "fallen off" girls who, after being disappointed as a dancer in a bar, decides to sell her body like her colleagues. The setting of the five episodes is the street.
"Asphalt stands on a threshold. Attempting to perceive reality in a new way, the film responds with old directives on how to understand these images." ELISABETH BÜTTNER/CHRISTIAN DEWALD
