Looking for Oum Kulthum

For Mitra, an ambitious artist, mother and wife in her prime, a dream comes true: she can finally make a film about one of her heroines, the legendary Egyptian singer Oum Kulthum. Her film focuses on the sacrifices and the price Oum Kulthum had to pay for her success in a conservative, Muslim society. While filming, Mitra's teenage son suddenly disappears. The worry about him and the increasing difficulty to fathom the myth of Oum Kulthum as well as the woman and artist behind it ultimately lead to Mitra's emotional and artistic breakdown.
