DER BOCKERER 1-4
(4 Movies)
The invasion of German troops in 1938 soon changes the small world of Viennese suburban butcher Karl Bockerer. But Bockerer is an individualist, a non-conformist with a sharp mind and a biting sense of humor. He offers passive resistance, and his weapon is mockery. In occupied Vienna in the post-war years, he once again stands up to the ruling powers in a charmingly snotty manner, this time his doggedness is directed against the Russian occupiers. In the next two episodes of the tetralogy, Karl Bockerer becomes involved in the Hungarians' struggle for national independence and experiences the brief "Prague Spring".
