Ceija Stojka

Director Karin Berger paints a sensitive portrait of the Austrian Romni Ceija Stojka, who lost almost her entire family in Auschwitz. Starting from Ceija Stojka's present life, the life of a fascinating woman who lived as a traveler and market driver before coming to the public eye as an author and painter, representative of the opening of the Roma to the world of the "gadje", is presented in flashbacks filled with unique archive material. "Ceija Stojka" is free of clichés and gives an insight into the life of the "gypsies" in Austria, who to this day are confronted with the prejudices of the "gadje".
