Live. Love. Suffer. Dance. Now! Mae (Anna Posch) roams the streets of Vienna as a punk in her late brother's Converse shoes. She lives off canned beer, sprays walls, tries her hand at poetry slams. She is not interested in a bourgeois life, she is looking for borderline experiences.
When she has to work off a fine at the Aids-Support-Centre, she meets Paul (Markus Subramaniam) and falls in love with him. CHUCKS tells a feather-light story of growing up between love and death, full of humor, sometimes rebelliously loud, then again exceedingly tender - entirely in the spirit of its literary model, the successful novel by Cornelia Travnicek, about which Clemens J. Setz once wrote: "If I want to get stuck in an elevator with a figure of contemporary literature, then with Mae. Whether I would get out of the elevator in one piece, I don't know, but it would be worth it." CLAUS PHILIPP
"A haunting, unforgettable film experience." SKIP
