In a months-long show trial, a group of animal rights activists was subjected to an attempt to criminalize them under the so-called Mafia Paragraph. The trial ended in 2013 with the provisional acquittal of all defendants under great media scrutiny. In DER PROZESS, the events before, during and after the trial are essentially presented from the point of view of the animal rights activists. That the film nevertheless does not exhaust itself in one-sided argumentation is due to the comprehensive research, the richness of detail, the patience and the different attitudes that are expressed.
