Young Baron Jaromir—now married and the father of two children—has invited two of his former lovers to his country estate. He intends to rekindle their old relationships. If only it weren’t for his servant, Theodor. In the past, Theodor had supported his master in his amorous adventures, but the idea that these should now continue within the confines of marriage deeply outrages him. He resigns from his master’s service and even refuses to serve his master’s mother, the baroness, to whom he has returned. He will not resume his duties until she gives him free rein, granting him “supervision over the whole affair.” She grants him this, as without his management, chaos already threatens the household—and guests are still expected. Josef Meinrad in one of his favorite and signature roles: the Bohemian-accented servant Theodor, an indispensable jack-of-all-trades and secret ruler over the “noble folk,” who keeps order—not only in the house but also in people’s hearts—when, through cunning deceptions, he prevents his “young master” (Karlheinz Hackl) from committing adultery—all on behalf of “Her Ladyship” (Paula Wessely). A subtle comedy with a star-studded cast, in which Josef Meinrad celebrated his final triumph. Starring: Hella Ferstl, Eva Fichte, Helma Gautier, Gertrud Helmer, Lotte Ledl, Sylvia Lukan, Julia Schober, Verena Wengler, Paula Wessely, Karlheinz Hackl, Tom Krinzinger, Fred Liewehr, Josef Meinrad, Karl Mittner.
