Measuring the World

At the beginning of the 19th century, Alexander von Humboldt, the son of an officer, explores South America. At the same time, Carl Friedrich Gauss, son of a laborer, conquers completely different territories with the world of numbers. Both men, the naturalist and the mathematician, become celebrities of their time. Only twice do these luminaries meet, who despite their different natures and biographies have something in common with their thirst for discovery, their unworldliness and arrogance, but also in their loneliness.
