Danube Hospital
Nikolaus Geyrhalter observes the goings-on in the various departments: in conference rooms, in the operating theaters, in the patients' rooms, in disinfection as well as in pathology and the hospital kitchen. The structure of the film follows an ingeniously functioning set-piece principle, in which the parts only become effective in their entirety. A portrait of an institution in which processes that are invisible to patients and hospital visitors are precisely set in relation to one another.
Danube Hospital portrays one of the largest hospitals in Europe and shows the daily routines and work processes within an overpowering and highly complex apparatus.
