The legendary Viennese TV family around Edmund "Mundl" and Antonia "Toni" Sackbauer returns thirty years after the series ended - and on the big screen. Mundl celebrates his 80th birthday. Because the family has grown enormously in the meantime with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but has also grown apart, Mundl has become quieter - and lonely. But his faithful Toni is planning a big birthday party, and so the Sackbauers are as turbulent as ever.
