Fever

Young Franzi lives with her parents in a small town in the 1950s. Photos are as much a part of her life as picture books are to the lives of other children. She spends days and nights caught between dreams and reality with the photos her father took during his colonial days as a French foreign legionnaire in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. The pictures are mysterious to Franzi and ignite her imagination. Fascination and horror lie close together. The father's malaria fever dream becomes the girl's nightmare. Many years later, the successful photographer Franziska sets off from Graz to Novi Sad in search of a missing half-sister, and the images of her childhood and the impressions of the trip to Serbia begin to intertwine ...
