A seamless show: Josef Hader weaves together the highlights from five programs into a cohesive whole—with insights and punchlines that hit the mark. In “Hader spielt Hader,” the new meets the old. On a wild journey to the center of the world through the Vienna sewers, to Australia, and all the way to hell, he encounters Hitler, Himmler, the popes, and even Reinhold Messner. And he sings, as if to thumb his nose at us: “That’s life.”
