The Headsman

In the late Middle Ages, on the threshold of modern times, two friends become the plaything of the church authorities. George, the prior, tries to stand up to the pressure of the church. His best friend Martin, however, the executioner, becomes a rebel who puts his existence, his family, his life on the line to save innocent people from the diabolical machinery of the Inquisition. The friends become mortal enemies....
