This film is a manifesto against violence, telling the poignant story of a family of guest workers who have been living in Vienna for decades, whose quiet middle-class life gets caught up in the maelstrom of violence and suffering as a result of the disintegration of Yugoslavia. Lovingly told from the point of view of the young MiIan, it becomes understandable how inevitably the family idyll of the Tomic family is destroyed, because unspeakable forebodings, because unfulfilled hero projections, because "speechlessness" determine this life. The dream of a beautiful life is shattered when Sasha, the older brother who has returned from the war, fails in the face of reality.
"This film shows in the most impressive way how war disfigures people." FILM.AT
