Kabale und Liebe

Ferdinand von Walter, son of the President of the residence, and Luise, daughter of the town musician Miller, love each other, across all social boundaries. But Ferdinand's father has quite different plans - a union of his son with Lady Milford, the duke's former mistress, would strengthen his own position at court. With the help of his secretary Wurm, he plans an intrigue that will tear the two lovers apart and ultimately lead to their deaths.
