Little Germans

Between the fight for freedom and democracy on the one hand and the call for national isolation on the other, many children grow up in a very controlled world. This documentary by filmmakers Mohammad Farokhmanesh and Frank Geiger combines animation and documentary to tell the stories of children raised in far-right families. From an early age, they are bent on hating everything that seems foreign. The directors try to fathom what it feels like to grow up in a world where empathy is beside the point and the nation is above all else. In addition, the documentary filmmakers investigate what becomes of the children once they have grown up.
