War In Vienna

Weltspiegel was once the name of a television news program. Michael Glawogger and Ulrich Seidl also presented Weltspiegel to the city of Vienna in 1989: Disasters in places around the globe reach living rooms via television. In Zaire or Iran, the signatures of the evening news sound strikingly similar; basically, they are broadcast in a comparable way around the world. Reality is reduced to the format of news clips. Glawogger and Seidl reinforce this stream of images by enriching it with their own interests and recordings.
