In this film, four women tell about their resistance to the Nazi regime. Agnes Primocic from Hallein assisted the escape of prisoners from the concentration camp, collected men's clothes at great risk, smuggled a pistol and organized shelter for those who escaped. Johanna Sadolschek-Zala, a Slovenian from southern Carinthia, was able to escape a large contingent of gendarmerie and Gestapo through her cunning and local knowledge and joined the partisans. Rosl Grossmann-Breuer from Vienna sabotaged a war factory, was arrested and resisted the physical and psychological torture by the Gestapo. Anni Haider recalls her time as a prisoner in Vienna and in the detention center in Aichach, the solidarity among the prisoners and her daydreams in the solitary cell. The women's wonderful way of narrating, their attitude marked by courage, solidarity and spirit of resistance makes the film a document of dignity and indomitability.
"And yet they were different from the majority of the population, they said no where many shouted yes, did not raise their hand in a Hitler salute, but clenched them into fists." Lisbeth N. Trallori, EMMA, July 7, 1985
