March
The joint suicide of three friends - with no apparent motive, no suicide note - shakes a small Tyrolean community. MARCH seeks to get close to their relatives, who find themselves in an everyday life that has not changed outwardly. What motivated the three deceased to take their life cannot be said. And yet everything in the village reverberates about it. Assigning blame leads nowhere: a community of fate is formed. The feature film debut of Tyrolean playwright and actor Händl Klaus, awarded the Silver Leopard in Locarno, is based on a true incident.
"It's been a long time since I've seen an Austrian film that shows people in the countryside in their emotional poverty and speechlessness with such simple and plain means, completely unspectacular but highly haunting." JOSEF WINKLER
