Germany in the summer of 1936: Toni (Benno Fürmann) and Andi (Florian Lukas) have known each other since childhood and are enthusiastic mountaineers. They are particularly fond of one mountain: the Eiger and its hitherto unconquered north face. Although it is known as the "wall of murder" because of the numerous fatal attempts to climb it, the two are convinced that they can do it. With the first ascent beckons not only the longed-for social advancement but also Olympic gold.
