Revanche

A consistently formal and consequent drama about guilt and atonement, the big city and the "provinces," attitudes to life that find their way to each other only with difficulty. There is a small-time hoodlum from the red-light district who sees a bank robbery as the last chance for independence for himself and the love of his life. There is a policeman who, because of this robbery, has suddenly become a "perpetrator" himself. And there is the wife of this policeman, who unknowingly enters a terrain where it no longer seems clear: Is she a means to the end of revenge, or does a surprising catharsis take place over her?
