Kathrin (Inka Friedrich) needs a new kidney. Her husband Arnold (Samuel Finzi) could donate his to her. But he's not quite in such a hurry to selflessly assist his wife with the vital organ. Their mutual friend Götz (Thomas Mraz), on the other hand, makes himself available as a donor without hesitation. This in turn displeases his wife Diana (Pia Hierzegger). Two potential donor kidneys put two marriages and the friendship between four people to the test. A film about looking at everything that seems self-evident. And about how much one can be mistaken. A comedy about existential love that doesn't get to the kidneys, but straight to the heart. Michael Kreihsl has already filmed a successful stage play to great public acclaim with "Die Wunderübung". Once again, he proves his flair for the successful screen adaptation of a stage hit.
