Mohsen Taheri (Navid Akhavan) doesn't have it easy. The lanky German-Iranian is already in his late 20s and still lives with his parents. Although he can't stand the sight of blood, he works in the family butcher shop in Cologne. His father (Michael Niavarani) considers him a failure, but never gives him a chance to prove otherwise. Mohsen has found two ways for himself to cope. Either he escapes into daydreaming or - when the pressure is on - he knits in order to relax. Mohsen knits a lot. While trying to save his parents' butcher's shop, he crashes his pickup truck in, of all places, the deepest East German province: in a dusty little village whose inhabitants eye everything new and new after 1989 with suspicion. Foreigners are not at all welcome there ...
