Somewhere Else

Somewhere Else portrays four young people between the ages of 19 and 27 who survived the Yugoslav War in Sarajevo. Four months after the end of the war, they talk about their experiences, about the fear of death in the face of snipers, about the dissolution of normality in snapshots, about their lost youth. On walks through the devastated city, in apartments that have become survival shelters, in the few remaining leisure centres, they talk about the urgency with which questions of death, loss and destruction have become embedded in their lives. And about dreams and hopes, about the small opportunities to escape their thoughts, which become a life-saving necessity in war.
