The Hahnenkamm races of the Streif downhill ski run in Kitzbühel are among the most difficult and dangerous in the world. Every year, millions of people watch this spectacle. For the documentary "Streif - One Hell Of A Ride," the team followed five athletes over a period of twelve months as they prepared for this major sporting event, which brings eternal fame to the winner. Some, however, had to pay dearly for the chase for the prestigious title. Serious crashes have already caused injuries that ended careers prematurely. Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway, Erik Guay of Canada, Max Franz and Hannes Reichelt of Austria, and Yuri Danilochkin of Belarus nevertheless accept the challenge, unwilling to be deterred by the dangers of the Hahnenkamm races. They face the task of testing their own limits.
