Sturm kommt auf - Part 1
In an Upper Bavarian village, political divisions are deepening. Julius Kraus, a cobbler who lives a secluded life on the fringes of the village community, finds himself drawn ever deeper into the maelstrom of dramatic political events between 1918 and Hitler’s rise to power in 1933. When his friend and neighbour, the farmer Heingeiger, becomes mayor, calm seems to return to the village, but Silvan, Heingeiger’s son and an enthusiastic ‘swastika-bearer’, finds the cobbler a thorn in his side. He also wants to get rid of Elies, Silvan’s sister, and her illegitimate son Peter. In the background, the situation between the right-wingers and the ‘Reds’ is coming to a dramatic head.
