Tehran Taboo

Pari, Babak, Sara and Donya live in the Iranian capital Tehran. To earn a living for herself and her five-year-old son Elias, Pari works as a prostitute and sells her body to an influential judge who purportedly helps her to a better life. Her neighbor Sara, who endures an obedient life as a housewife under her husband and his devout parents, also dreams of a better life, but would much rather go back to work. Young Donya faces a similar fate. In a few days, she will have to get married. Nevertheless, she gets involved in a night with the young musician Babak and afterwards demands that he must pay for an operation to restore her virginity. But where is the poor student supposed to get the money and how will the state control authorities deal with it? Four fates that are closely intertwined, four people who all suffer in their own way under the restrictive laws of the God's state.
