Girls Under Investigation

Stella Blumauer and Esmeralda Nemetz hitchhike. They get into the car of Josef Trummer who rapes them. Trummer remains missing afterwards. The two are accused of having beaten him to death and robbed him. Since the girls are considered indiscriminate in an erotic sense, self-defense is ruled out; episodes from their lives are used by the authorities as evidence of their sexual recklessness. Former sailor Harald Poppinger, a dazzling figure and heartthrob who had an affair with both of them, believes in his lover's innocence.
