VERKAUFTE HEIMAT was perhaps the only film for a long time that dealt with the historical developments in South Tyrol in the period between 1938 and the mid-sixties. This critical period is examined through the stories of three families.
Part 3 "Feuernacht": The prelude to the biggest wave of assassinations in South Tyrol began with the detonation of the 'Aluminium Duce' in Waidbruck on January 30, 1961. 47 high-voltage pylons were blown up throughout South Tyrol in the night from July 11 to 12, Sacred Heart Sunday. The setting is the same fictional village as in the first two parts of this saga.
