Flood in the Kamptal. The remains of three babies are discovered in the cellar of an old house. It is the parental home of Claudia, who disappeared without a trace twenty years ago as a schoolgirl. The villagers have never quite forgotten the tragedy, and so old wounds are opened up when Marion Reiter from the St. Pölten homicide squad takes up the investigation. She is joined by the inexperienced but tenacious community police officer Ulli Herzog. While the two of them delve deeper and deeper into the case, the new owner Benjamin Ludwig, a general practitioner from Vienna, moves into the enchanted house with his partner Matthias.
