Marian packs a few things, leaves her husband behind in the city and retreats to her deceased grandmother's old, inherited house, ten kilometers from the nearest village. She has no electricity, no food, little money and no car. And her presence is disturbing, causing unrest in the village. What does she want here? Marian's childhood friend Gerti, who runs the farm and looks after her elderly parents, lives near the old house. Gerti and Marian used to be best friends; they used to roam the woods for days on end as a trio with Franz. Marian's return rekindles old conflicts and forgotten dreams between the three of them.
