India

"The frying grease gleams turbidly on eternally identical schnitzels, whose goodness must be inspected for the salvation of the domestic catering trade. The jaws of Heinzi Bösel (Josef Hader), the city official in charge of the inspection, grind their teeth, while his new colleague Kurt Fellner (Alfred Dorfer) makes do with plates of salad or terrorizes frightened innkeepers for failing to display emergency exits. The melodrama of a working community, the comedy of a friendship that even testicular cancer can't harm: INDIA, directed for the cinema in 1993 by Paul Harather - Stand-up-comedy to make you laugh and cry. Fatal, when Bösel gets angry: 'I'll write them an evaluation now - next year they'll just have refugees.'" CLAUS PHILIPP
