Things continue to be turbulent in Braunschlag. Dr. Feist has had a leg taken off after the robbery in which he was shot. And after old Matussek was maimed by Bauxi, the mood in Braunschlag threatens to tip over for good. Gerri hands over the mayor's office to Banyardi, who has now settled in Braunschlag. His love, Silke, suddenly quits her job at Gerri's mother's farm and leaves without saying goodbye. Katzlbrunner, the secretary of the provincial governor, is knocked unconscious by Richard in his disco because he provoked Gerri.
